Following the extravagance of exchanging presents at Christmas, where you basically exhausted all of your most thoughtful ideas, it can sometimes be a bit tricky trying to find 'the perfect gift'.
Well, worry no more; if your Ma is gripped by the grape, and enjoys sipping a glass of wine or two, then we have a very appropriate gift guide. With something to suit every budget, you're sure to find something to please your wine-loving Mum - let's face it, she deserves it.
And if that's not enough, we have an EXTRA SPECIAL GIVEAWAY of a Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose Gift Pack (half a bottle with two glasses worth £52.95) from Champagne Direct! Generous huh? More on that later.
For now, here are the Top 10 Wine Gifts for Mother's Day... Because booze is best.

Like the original that we've previously featured, the Corkcicle Air is designed to keep your wine chilled from inside the bottle.
This one has some swanky new additions; a pour through spout and a built in aerator, which instantly improves the flavours and aroma of your wine! This means you no longer have to remove the wand-like Corkcicle from your bottle in order to pour a cool glass of vino - unless you really want your Mum to look like Harry Potter!
And as for the aerator, it works by drawing air into the second hole in the top of the Corkcicle; the velocity of the wine being poured brings the air down into the Corkcicle, mixing with the wine before leaving the spout.
Simply freeze before use, and let the stalactite do its magic! You can purchase a Corkcicle Air from Firebox for £19.99 (and thank you Root 7 for sending me one to play with!).

What could be better than organising a trip for you and your Ma to go and visit a vineyard?! With a choice of 5 UK locations, the tour takes you from the start of the wine making process in the vineyard, all the way through to the most important part - the tasting!
You'll also be treated to a delicious lunch to soak up those wine samples. In either Cambridge, Devon, East Sussex, Essex or Shropshire, this would be an unforgettable day out for any wine enthusiast.
The tour and tasting with lunch is currently on offer; £49 (was £69) from Buy A Gift.
3. Virgin Wines Prosecco Duo Gift Box
Bubbles are the BEST way to celebrate, and virtually every Mum around the world wouldn't say no to a glass of something sparkly on Mothering Sunday.
Virgin Wines have nailed it on that front; not one but two bottles of highly rated, gold medal winning prosecco; Due Colline Prosecco NV and Le Dolci Colline Rose Spumante NV.
Light, crisp and fruity, this fizz will put a smile on anyone's face, and the gold wrapped bottles in a wooden gift box (seen in the lead image - thank you Virgin Wines!) make it super sophisticated.
This posh prosecco duo is just £29.99, and Virgin Wines offer free delivery. You can even order before 2pm and receive it the following day!... Good for you last minute shoppers. They also do a range of other Mother's Day gifts.
4. LSA International Polka Champagne Flutes
Speaking of bubbly, why not opt for some feminine glassware as a present? LSA are at the forefront of affordable glassware, and their new Polka range has arrived just in time for Mother's Day.
Shimmering pastel colours and an elegant hand-applied pearl lustre give these champagne flutes and air of sophisticated vintage glamour.
In blue, pink, green and yellow, it's £30 for the four flutes direct from the LSA International website, and you'll get free delivery with any order over £15 too! Their regular wine glasses are also available in this style - again £30 - and the website has tonnes of other glassware gift ideas for you to perve on.

I do! I bloody love wine! And if your Mum does too, why not pick this up as a silly little gift? Lovingly screen printed by British designer Kelly Connor, this hot pink and black retro flower tea towel means you can do the dishes in style! The print is also available on a mug, a tote bag, or on paper to be framed, so take your pick.
The 'wine' tea towel by Kelly Connor Design is available on NOTHS for £11.95.

Voted as Gift of The Year on NOTHS, the Grapevine Gift Crate from The Gluttonous Gardener is the epitome of cool wine themed presents. Flowers? Pah! Get your Ma a frickin' grape vine!
You get a pair of specially chosen grape vines inside the stunning wooden crate (one red, one white); they should thrive in our fickle British climate and produce a harvest of delicious grapes within a couple of years.
Full care and cultivation instructions are included too, so even if the lucky recipient doesn't have the greenest of fingers, they have the info to help them create their own harvest of grapes!
The Grapevine Gift Crate is a handsome £44, but if you want something a little cheaper, check out the Grow Your Own Vine Kits, also on NOTHS, for £9.95.
7. Hotel Chocolat Oysters & Champagne
Having oysters and champagne makes you feel like the king/queen of life, right?... Well, if you like them that is. For something equally as elegant, minus the molluscs, why not go for this box of treats from Hotel Chocolat? Milk chocolate oysters filled with silky smooth praline, served with milk chocolate pearls of champagne ganache. Yum!
Fancier than your average box of chocs, Hotel Chocolat's twist on the classic pairing is just £15.

For any mum that loves a bit of literary LOLz, then this funny A4 wine print will make the perfect Mother's Day gift. Written by award-winning Bespoke Verse poet Joanna Miller, it starts with "On Mondays I am rather keeno... On a lazy glass of Pinot". I'm totally sold.
It's available in three colours - red, green or grey - and you can add a personalised message at the bottom if you like (for an additional fee). As it is, the Wine Lovers Poem Print is £14 from NOTHS.
9. Roe Deer Antler Wine Stopper
For something a bit more unique, check out these super cool antler wine stoppers! Handmade by Lydia Harper in Gloucester, they're real Roe Deer antlers, so each one is different and essentially one of a kind! The silver chrome bottle stopper fits all standard sized bottles, and when in use, it gives your wine a very dramatic look!
The one pictured is £15 from Etsy, but the others in MEMENTOMORILYDIA's store range from £15-£20.
10. Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose NV Glass Pack
Rose champagne is an excellent choice for Mother's Day, and Billecart-Salmon's Brut Rose is SO good (seriously - read Laura's review on it). A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, the pale and bright pink colour is adorned with warm glints of gold, and its delicate slowly rising bubbles give it a persistent mousse. This cuvee has a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits and zest of citrus fruits. Sounds blissful, doesn't it?
The Glass Pack contains 1 half bottle of Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose NV (37.5cl) and 2 Billecart-Salmon branded champagne flutes; it's £52.95 from Champagne Direct, but wait... We have one to give away!

Sorry, I don't have a sob story but I'd still love love to win this for my mum for no other reason than I love her loads. She's 70 this year and as we both get older I appreciate her more and more.
ReplyDeleteI was a pain in the behind when I was growing up and how she put all with all my antics, I'll never know! I'm surprised I didn't drive her to drink.
Speaking of drink, She'd love this Champagne!
Like a DIAMOND she’s a MULTI-FACTED GEM with a SPARKLING personality and a BRILLIANT heart of GOLD who’s a CUT above the rest.
ReplyDeleteGoodness me those champagne flutes are lovely! I might have to leave links to this blog post lying around :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win this. I love champagne and with my husband living abroad, this could be my Mother's Day present to myself
I'm not gonna go in to a sob story because me and my mum haven't always seen eye to eye. We have argued, fought and stopped speaking numberous times. Since I because a mom myself I've learnt how important moms are. She has always been there when I've needed her and always listened to me.
ReplyDeleteThese are great gifts can't beat alcohol and chocolates fro a stressed out mummy, my birthday is the day before Mothers day this year so double treats for me - I hope ;) x x
ReplyDeleteMy mum passed away when I was 18, but my mother-in-law is an incredible woman. She has always treated me just like her daughter. It's in little things like getting my favourite breakfast stuff and taking the train down from Durham for the day to take me wedding dress shopping. When my husband and I go on a trip, she orders food to be delivered the day we get back so we have breakfast, and she calls when I am sick because she knows how much I miss my mum when I am ill. She gave me a family again and I love her so much.
ReplyDeleteMy mum is one amazing woman. 5 months ago she had a stroke and gave us all a big scare, we're now happy to have her back home and on the mend so this mothers day we're spoiling her rotten to show her just how amazing she is!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway. I need the corkcircle air i love that it's like a wand. My mum is brilliant because she is always there for me and picks me up when things are falling to pieces! Would love to have some bubbles to givw her to show her how much she means to me :)

ReplyDeleteMy mum is brilliant because she is always there for me. She knows how to cheer me up. She lost her job recently so i am doing my best to cheer her up xx
ReplyDeleteMy mum has cared for my son and I for three years now and has completely put her life on hold to help me recover. She sooo deserves a gift like this....except that she'd not be allowed to use the champagne flutes, it would have to be in a tumbler as she has a habit of sending stemmed glasses flying with her hand gestures whilst talking!!! I think I'm going to have to get her that tea towel too- brilliant!
ReplyDeleteMy mum is brilliant because she is the most selfless person I know and is at the heart of our huge family! This year is a big year for her as she has just turned 65, she will be celebrating her 45th wedding anniversary with my dad in June and she is a proud mum to 4 children and a much loved grandmother to 16 young grandchildren all under the age of 12! She has offered me some good advice over the years and always been there to support me too <3
ReplyDeleteMy Mum is brilliant because she made me... and I made my 2 gorgeous boys, who are obviously the best kids in the world...when they're in bed sleeping and me and my Mum are chatting about what new adventures the kids embarked on that day. Wine helps make the 'little rascals adventures' more survivable. Champagne would be better!
ReplyDeleteMy mum is brilliant because she's not just my mum! She's my best friend and rock! She has supported me when I have been at my lowest and giggled with me at my highest. She's amazing! Xx
ReplyDeleteI can say many things about my wonderful Mum, but the only thing anyone needs to know about her is how funny she is and how delightfully pleased I am that she is so happy right now. All mums are special to someone, but it's only as a (sort of) adult I realised exactly how much she sacrificed for both me and my brother to keep us happy and to make us the (sort of grown up) men we are. I can't imagine another person making such a profound impact on my life, being able to be both very kind and compassionate to all as well as being firm when it was needed, as well as always being funny (and teaching me and my brother a healthy respect of the art of cooking).
ReplyDeleteIt was never an easy journey, but I know we make her proud, and I hope we always will. I'll put all of this in the card and I'm travelling home on Saturday to spend the full Sunday with her, and it's already a lot more thoughtful than what I usually end up writing in cards. So, thanks for this opportunity to really reflect on how fantastic she is.
My mum died when I was 18 but I have two Mum friends who I would share this with to celebrate being Mums! Hopefully that's not cheating!
ReplyDeleteshe is ours which makes her one in a definite million
ReplyDeletethese look lovely my mum is always there for all of us this looks fab xxxx
ReplyDeleteMy mum is awesome. She's crazy. She taught me how to grout tiles and drink enough to make it through uni. She taught me how to read, and fuelled my passion for Byron, Austen, Shakespeare. She's an inspiration. She's fearless and strong. And if I don't get her something alcohol-related for Mother's Day I know I'll be disowned........
ReplyDeleteShe's a great mum; she doesn't suffocate me, she lets me get on and make my own mistakes in life :) And, even if I don't say it enough, I love her so much.
Hello Kate! I'm chuffed to say you've won the giveaway!! Huzzah!
DeleteI've sent you a message at your Google + & on YouTube (sorry, just wanted to make sure you get it!) but I thought I'd leave a comment here too - if you could just email us at vinspireUK@gmail.com then we can sort out sending you your prize! :-) xxx
If Mums were flowers I'd always pick mine
ReplyDeleteShe's the best of the bunch like a well matured wine
Sweet, kind & selfless she can't do enough

Disabled with arthritis her mobility's hampered
So she truly deserves to be positively pampered
She may be 82 but she's got glamour & style
The best Mum in the world who always makes me smile
She's always the one on whom I can depend

ReplyDeleteMy Mum gave me wise words in a calm quiet way, she said you may be right but never be wrong in the way you relay that right. Its the quiet voice I try to remember.
ReplyDeleteI guess my mum is alright really, She's letting me and my partner stay with her whilst we save to buy our first home, she makes us tea every night, does our washing, does the cleaning, feeds the cat... in fact I don't think we really want to move out.... Perhaps some lovely wine would keep her sweet a little while longer ;)
ReplyDeletemy mother in law ( the only one I have left) is always doing things for others, including the "old folk"- who are younger than she is
ReplyDeleteBecause if she loves us (her three daughters) unconditionally, what more can anyone ask for?

ReplyDeleteMy mum is awesome. she flew all the way to Korea to see me when I lived there. She made us all so proud last year by graduating uni at 50 years old! She is just the kindest, most hard working person I know.
ReplyDeleteMy Mum is amazing, I have 4 children 3 of whom have autism. She will drop everything in the blink of an eye whenever I need a break. She also takes a week off from work each year to come and stay at my house and look after the children so I can go on holiday for some much needed respite
ReplyDeleteDespite being 77, she still bakes buns and hand ices them for my two small boys. And a million other things she's been doing for me for the last 47 years.
ReplyDeleteMy mum was amazing and always there for me not matter what. My older sister is now like her stand-in and doing just as well - mum would be proud!

ReplyDeleteMy mum is a strange one, but she's mine and she loves me!
ReplyDeleteMy mum was the best and she was mine but sadly she passed away some years ago however I would love to enter on behalf of my grandchildren as their mum is a hard working mum to 8 and would be nice for them to treat her like this :)
ReplyDeleteMy mum, bless her cottons, is not a drinker. She gets tipsy on half a glass of cider.
ReplyDeleteHowever upon leaving her job of 25 years her colleagues dragged her out on the town - returning at 1:30am she proudly stated she had drunk 'simuca shorts' ... she meant Sambuca shots. I love that woman :P
My mum is always there when I need her
ReplyDeleteShe's always been there for me, even so when I deserved it least.
ReplyDeleteMy Mums Brilliant because she never interferes or tells me how to do stuff. but can advise me when I ask.

ReplyDeletecause she is so hard working, strong and very unique.
ReplyDeletelove my mum just because she is my mum, no silly story sorry x

ReplyDeleteMum has just been the best mum I could have had , she has been a best friend , a support and carer through chronic illness, but most of all and despite all of the touchy feely stuff, she is also the family's court jester . She makes us laugh when we are down , or just for the sake of making us laugh. I would love to treat mum , and just have some "us" time together , reminiscing, gossiping but most of all giggling ourselves silly.

ReplyDeleteMy Mummy –
ReplyDeleteI came into the world, just last year,
With great joy and many a tear.
For eight months now, I have grown
With many a cry, and a little moan.
I have thrown my food in every direction.
While Mummy looks for any protection.
My collection of nappies is growing fast.
But will my hobby ever last?
I sleep at any time I choose.
When I awake, Mum’s having a snooze!
She has large bags under her eyes,
Looking after me, it’s no surprise!
My mummy has seen this every day,
Yet her love has never gone astray.
I wish I could repay her everlasting love.
Maybe A bottle of ‘Billecart-Salmom' can answer the above?
Lots of Love
Baby Kirsty Dunlop
What a fantastic range of gifts!
ReplyDeleteMy mum is brilliant for the following reasons:
She taught me from a young, young age
To smile and not be sad.
She never flew into a rage
When I did something bad.
She's not one for girly stuff
Like shopping all day long.
But my mum is very tough
Determined, focused, strong.
I can feel deep in my bones
That she will never stop
She has her day job - plus she owns
A local cider shop!
She's not your standard mumsy mum
That it's clear to see
But in my eyes, unlike some
She's perfect just for me :)
My mum is perfect to me because for eighty years she has been there for me and my brothers and sisters x
