Top Hotels for Beer Lovers

So you want to get away for a few days, chill out, maybe have a few beers... well, beer fans can go way further than that with these beer-themed and beer-crazy hotels.

1. Sleep in a Beer Barrel, Landhotel, Germany

I stumbled across this beer-themed room yesterday and it totally blew my mind. The barrel was in use at a local brewery from the 19th century until about 1995 - but it now looks like a surprisingly cosy sleeping space. While you're there you can even use a beer barrel sauna, too.

Book it via AirBnB from just £83 as a single or double.

2. Dogfish Inn, Delaware, United States

This beer-themed hotel is in the heart of a scenic, coastal location in Lewes, Delaware. It features rooms with beer-centric amenities - such as beer barware so you can enjoy any beers you might buy from local breweries - and prints of a local brewery's beer labels on the walls in each room.

It also has very pretty outdoor spaces to watch shooting stars by night, and a gorgeous library. Rooms are about $180-375 per night on average but it goes up and down with the seasons.

3. The Augustine Hotel, Prague

This isn't a beer-themed hotel - just a very swish one - but it does have the St. Thomas Brewery Bar underground in the old brewery cellars, and it's quite spectacular. With original stalactites and stalagmites from the 17th century and a delicious, cavernous feel to it, the bar also serves an array of beers still produced at the adjoining brewery.

At the spa, you can also indulge in a beer body ritual or an exfoliating massage using organic hops...

4. The Old Cannon Brewery, Bury St. Edmunds

This quaint brewery hotel has rooms named after its beers, and serves lots of beer-themed food, as well as having the brewery onsite to visit, of course.

5. The BrewHouse, Milwaukee, United States

One of the first things you see here is a stained glass window depicting the patron saint of beer, so you know you're on the right track. This steampunk-style hotel is set in a historic brewery and celebrates the local beer, with nice decorative touches like glass doors made from beer bottles.

6. Hotel Weierich, Bamberg, Bavaria

Obvz, there had to be an amazing beer hotel in Bavaria, and there really is.
Amazing seminars and courses teaching you the finer points of brewing, and nine-beer tasting dinners to show you how to match their beers with Bavarian foods = AMAZING.

With nine breweries in the town, there's certainly plenty of beer to explore outside the hotel, too.

  1. Great article! I spent a year in Bamberg and can confirm that Hotel Weierich is excellent. Bamberg is especially known for its smoked beer so if you're there you should definitely wander over to Schlenkerla (just a couple of minutes walk from Hotel Weierich) or up to one of the beer Kellers on the hill (Spezial and Wilde Rose).
