Digital Drinking: Cocktail Crazy - The AMAZING Cocktail Making Game!

When I stumbled across Cocktail Crazy on Twitter, I thought it was just another cocktail-making app (more on those next week), but oh HOW WRONG I was.

If you like cocktails AND you like wasting countless hours playing addictive games on your phone, I think you may just be about to have the happiest day of your life.

Cocktail Crazy is an educational, fast-paced and utterly, utterly blissful game app where you can become the best bartender in the world.

You start at a pub, and work your way through a variety of themed bars and cocktail joints that get progressively more chic and exclusive. The aim of the game is to serve as many customers with as many accurate cocktails as possible.

It's a very hands-on game: you pour the drinks, squeeze the screen (a la zooming in on a photograph) to get the right amount of lemon juice, and shake your phone to whizz the ingredients together in a cocktail shaker.

As a very casual gamer (I probably play phone games once or twice a week, for half an hour maximum) I can safely say that it's not too difficult to play (although I am a cocktail fanatic). That said, I did fail a couple of the levels the first time around, so it will give you enough of a challenge to keep you on your toes. Trying to serve all the customers on time before they walk out is pretty fast and furious, and you get tips based on your speed and accuracy.

The one downside? It's not free. That said, it's only £1.49 which hardly breaks the bank, and there's plenty of levels to get through (I think it's 8 in total), and as the cocktails get more and more fancy, it's going to take you a lot longer to pass to the next bar.

Another huge bonus is that the app has a database of the cocktails you make, so if you fancy shakin' a few up in real life you have the ingredients, measures and instructions at your fingertips.

One thing I will warn you: the sound effects as you make the cocktails are so inviting, you'll find it hard-pressed not to have a glass of something delicious filled with clinking ice cubes by your side.

Grab the Cocktail Crazy app game at the iTunes Store for £1.49 - it's suitable for iPhones and iPads.
