We at Vinspire are committed to getting you out and about and learning excellent new things about your favourite tipples, so we thought we'd bring you the lowdown on April wine, gin, whisky, beer and even coffee events.

Beer
Throughout April - The fantastic CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) website lists several beer festivals happening throughout the UK this month, including Bolton and Swansea Bay (4th-6th April), the Newcastle Beer and Cider Festival (10th-13th April), East Anglia (24th-27th April) and Coventry (26th-27th April). For more info and their venues, take a look at their event list.
26th - 27th April - The 2nd Leeds Annual Charity Beer Festival takes place at the end of the month, and this year it's Scotland vs Yorkshire, with 36 casks available to try. Tickets are a measly two quid, with a £4 festival pack that entitles you to two cheeky halves and a beer glass once you get inside. Getting drunk for charity sounds like lots of fun.
Gin
17th April - Sipsmith Gin Tasting. The English-Speaking Union is holding this gin-filled event at Dartmouth House in London W1. Tickets are £10 for non-alumni.
Whisky
11th April - Japanese Whisky Masterclass
We don't think we've ever been more excited about trying new whisky - Edinburgh's The Bon Vivant's Companion is holding their first public tasting of Japanese whiskies! Tickets are £15, and we are so curious we're thinking about hopping on a train to Edinburgh...
13th April - Midlands Whisky Festival
Tickets for this are a pricey £35, but this gives you access to 200 whisky samples, including two rare and exotic drams to try. There's also fabulous masterclasses and discount whiskies to buy on the day.
19th April - Aberdeen Whisky Festival
Elphinstone Hall gets overtaken on the 19th for your whisky-drinking pleasure. Tickets are £12 (£8 if you can prove you're a student - result!) and is especially exciting as it's on the doorstep of iconic whisky region, Speyside.
Wine
Vinoteca's Marylebone store is hosting this £15 tasting of wines from Piedmont to Sicily.
22nd April - Rioja Masterclass, Cambridge Wine
We've enjoyed their events before, but we can't think of a better way to spend a Monday night than drinking lots of delicious Rioja whilst the wonderful Sarah Jane Evans MW tells us all about them. Tickets are £15 and it's at their Cherry Hinton Road store.
24th April - Pessac-Leognan Tasting
Decanter's tastings are always fun and informative, and this one at London's Institute of Directors looks no different - an evening of sampling some impressive producers including many cru classes. Tickets are £25.
26th-28th April - Cheese and Wine Festival
London's Southbank plays host to two of our very favourite things at the end of the month - and unbelievably ADMISSION IS FREE! We reckon we'll see you all there. (There's also lots of lovely workshops with very reasonable fees.)
Festivals and Other
13th-14th April - East of England Food and Drink Festival
Being held at the ever-grand Knebworth House, this is always a huge success. Tickets are £9.
13th-14th April - Suffolk Food, Drink and Music Festival
Think beers, jams, fruit wine and dancing around. It's £7 per adult for a day pass.
13th and 27th April - 69 Colebrook Row
These lovely people insist on teaching us how to make the best cocktails. They have a Gin Cocktail Masterclass on 13th April, and a Bourbon cocktail masterclass on 27th April, both of which are £40 each.
25th-28th April - London Coffee Festival
I know plenty of artisan caffeine product-obsessed friends that will be ridiculously excited about this. A true coffee-geek's wet dream, tickets start at £9.50 for a day pass (£12.50 on the door.)
26th-28th April - Exeter Food and Drink Festival
Those folks in the South West really know about how to put on a good foodie event, and this is one of the best. Tickets start from a stupidly-low £7.50 for a day pass, and there's exciting after-dark parties for an extra fiver each night too.
